Blow - 9/1/21

 Hello Coyotes,

Book 41: Blow: How a Small-Town Boy Made $100 Million with Medelin Cocaine Cartel and Lost It All (5/10)

Premise: Small town boy with big asperations joins the drug trade but gets too greedy

This story follows George Jung's journey from upper middle class highschooler in a small town to the large trial which ended his smuggling career. It starts out small, George flies Marijuana from Mexico to the United States to make money, a lot of money. But along the way he meets people who tell him that the Cocaine business would make him rich beyond his wildest dreams.

George is all in. He flies, or gets piolets to fly from Mexico or other places to the United States carrying large amount of Cocaine. He deals with small farmers, takes over a resort, works with Pablo Escabar and more.

In the end when George is caught he doesn't want to go down alone and brings other pieces toppling down with him.

This book is definitely interesting if you want to learn about the "Escabar" era drug trade and introduction of mass amounts of Cocaine into the US. But perhaps because of Narcos,  Breaking Bad, Weeds, and similar shows, everything seems pretty par for the course. Now this is true, and many of the other shows and books are false, but for entertainment value in many places it just falls short.

So keep your nose clean,

and remember dear readers, Stay Vivd
