The Hobbit + The Lord of the Rings Trilogy 8/3/21
Greetings Readers,
Book 35-38: The Lord of the Rings Trilogy & the Hobbit (8/10)
It has been a while since I've written on here, but that does not mean my reading has stopped. This blog post is about the (main) parts of Tolkiens world, Middle Earth.
The Hobbit is a children's book much more than the main trilogy, and also a prequil. It talks about Bilbo Baggins and his adventures throughout Middle Earth, traveling with dwarves, fighting dragons, avoiding orcs and more. It is also the story of how the one ring found it's way from obscurity to a thriving, if small, sub species of creatures in Middle Earth.
The Trilogy is about the rings destruction, the travels of a party of adventurers, their splitting up, finding each other again, and a war for land they were on. Tolkien writes in a way invites the reader to learn so much about the land the adventure takes place. Not simply the story and some lore but a whole slew of other information, flushing out the world in a unique and fulfilling way.
What did surprise me somewhat is how much of the books is left out of the movies. Even with the extended editions running for over 12 hours, chunks of the books are just left out. However overall I really enjoyed reading these books and I watched the movies again after I finished, and I have to say they hold up.
So sing for Tom Bambadil if you ever need him,
and remember dear readers, Stay Vivid
